Bluebird Box Project Has Early Success
Givens Estates residents have been working for several months on a bluebird box project. Woodworkers have created 56 boxes crafted from re-purposed wood signs. We are happy to share that their loving work is paying off! We have 9 populated nests, 6 with eggs!!! We are looking forward to sharing more about the progress of the Givens Estates bluebirds!
Givens Estates Springs into Appreciation for the United Way
Our Spring into Appreciation event was a HUGE success! We raised over $2,000 for The United Way of Asheville Buncombe County. A big thank you to everyone who purchased flowers – we delivered 1,600 carnations to 162 team members and 231 residents!!!

MAHEC Appoints Gloria Trujillo, MD, as New Medical Director at Givens Estates
Dr. Trujillo has been active for many years on our campus as an attending physician in the MAHEC Clinic, Wood Assisted Living, and Givens Estates Health Center. We are pleased to continue to work with her in this expanded role.
Assisted Living Resident Receives NCAPA Award
Karen Adams, a resident of Wood Assisted Living, is a gracious and loyal volunteer in WAL. Karen makes sure Saturday programs and activities are conducted while staff are home for the weekend.
