Givens Communities is again a sponsor and participant for the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Walk, to be held this Thursday (June 13) from 2-4 p.m. at Carrier Park, 220 Amboy Road in Asheville.

This multigenerational event is free to the public and will include info about elder abuse, impacts on the community, and how local agencies combat elder abuse.

Holly Jones, with the N.C. Department of Justice, will be the keynote speaker.

Givens residents and team members plan to attend the event, hosted by Buncombe County Elder Justice Coalition in partnership with Land of Sky Area Agency on Aging, Buncombe County Adult and Aging Services, Legal Aid of North Carolina, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, Van Winkle Law Firm, North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union, and the state Department of Justice.
