Residents Enjoy a Ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail

With every dining operation there is always leftover food which cannot be used. Givens Estates employees and residents have voiced concern about how leftover food was being utilized. Bill Lowery , resident liaison with Asheville Poverty Initiative, approached us about 12 Baskets Cafe; a free café which is operated by the Asheville Poverty Initiative. Mr. Lowery and Ryan Kanupp, one of the Executive Sous at Givens Estates, collaborated to facilitate a partnership between Givens Estates and Asheville Poverty Initiative.
Mission Health Partners recently published their quality metrics for their 19 health partners. Givens Estates attained the highest level in 9 out of 12 measurements and was #1 in 7 of the categories.
Residents got an early start to summer with a trip to Myrtle Beach and Brookgreen Gardens. The weather was perfect and everyone had a good time!
Givens Estates residents have been working for several months on a bluebird box project. Woodworkers have created 56 boxes crafted from re-purposed wood signs. We are happy to share that their loving work is paying off! We have 9 populated nests, 6 with eggs!!! We are looking forward to sharing more about the progress of the Givens Estates bluebirds!
