Wood Assisted Living Has Deficiency Free Survey
Wood Assisted Living Has Deficiency Free Survey
On June 20 – 21, Wood Assisted Living went through our annual Licensure Survey by NC Department of Health Services Regulation. All assisted living communities in the state of NC are required to comply with many regulations developed to ensure the quality of care that is provided. Assisted Living Communities are inspected annually unless the Community has two consecutive deficiency free surveys. In this case the community would then be inspected bi- annually. This is an unannounced inspection with 3-4 surveyors who spend 2 days in the building.& They speak with residents, family members, and staff members. They watch resident care being performed, they observe medication administration, and they watch medical treatments being performed. Additionally, they monitor meal service and preparation and quality and they inspect closely all assessments, care plans, and other medical documentation and legal notifications.
We are pleased that after two days, the inspectors deemed that Wood Assisted Living was in complete compliance with all applicable regulations and therefore was Deficiency Free. This is our second consecutive deficiency free survey. This is an achievement to be celebrated together with our residents, families, and staff. Please join us in celebrating this recognition of the care provided each day, and please continue to give us feedback that will help us continue to maintain this high standard of care at Wood Assisted Living.
