Rotarians Against Hunger

Each year, Givens Estates residents partner with the Rotarians Against Hunger. The mission of this organization is to provide meals to hungry families in Western North Carolina and to impoverished families abroad. Rotarians against Hunger has packaged over 2.5 million meals to fight hunger both here and abroad since it launched in 2010.

Givens Estates residents are supporting this worthwhile cause. They will participate in a meal packing day on March 21st at the Reuter Family YMCA in Biltmore Park. The goal is to pack 350,000 meal units which will be distributed throughout Western North Carolina by the MANNA FoodBank.

In advance of the meal packing day, Givens Estates residents are helping by placing labels on plastic bags. They have been assigned the task of labeling 28,000 plastic bags for dry food such as black beans. Dieter Buehler, pictured, is the resident leading the Givens Estates volunteers in this very worthy effort.
