MAHEC Appoints Gloria Trujillo, MD, as New Medical Director at Givens Estates
Dr. Trujillo has been active for many years on our campus as an attending physician in the MAHEC Clinic, Wood Assisted Living, and Givens Estates Health Center. We are pleased to continue to work with her in this expanded role.
Assisted Living Resident Receives NCAPA Award
Karen Adams, a resident of Wood Assisted Living, is a gracious and loyal volunteer in WAL. Karen makes sure Saturday programs and activities are conducted while staff are home for the weekend.
Givens Estates Receives 6th Accreditation from CARF
Givens Estates has been accredited by CARF since 1993. Re-accreditation occurs every five years. This rigorous process evaluates the organization’s business as well as care practices and procedures to ensure an adherence to international standards. During the site visit, surveyors interview and observe staff, residents, and members of the leadership and Board of Directors.

Givens Estates Health Center was inspected by the NC Division of Health Services Regulation in early November 2018. The result was an exceptional deficiency free survey.
